Large interlocking petals of pure hue — cobalt, violet, magenta, cadmium orange and lemon — press against one another with dark outlined seams, their interiors carrying a fine speckled tooth that catches light like worked oil paint. The composition holds only a handful of shapes, each one given room to assert its colour.
