Startling

Thousands of fine vertical striations fall the full height of the canvas in magenta, crimson, jade, lavender and pale gold, brightening toward a luminous spine at centre before cooling into shadow at the edges. Read closely it is fibre and thread; stepped back it becomes light through rain.
