Elvis

A green-winged macaw pushed right up to the picture plane: the pale striated cheek, the black hook of the lower mandible and the cream-to-olive upper beak drawn with wet, blended brushwork, while the surrounding plumage burns through crimson into orange. The eye, ringed in yellow, is the one point of absolute sharpness.
