Shadow in the Ivy

The same Bernese mountain dog set deep in a bank of ivy, worked over until every leaf and every hair carries an incised outline. The greens run from acid to bottle across the whole field, and the dog's black, rust and white head sits in the middle of that texture like a clearing — mouth open, eyes level with the viewer.
