Vortex XII (Variation GP)
A rotating gesture pushed to its highest contrast: ridged bands of cyan, chartreuse, magenta and white wind inward against a matte black ground until they close on a small white eye below centre. The black is not background but interval — it separates every revolution so the spiral reads as a sequence of discrete turns rather than a continuous sweep, while broken flecks along the outer edges record where the knife lifted from the surface.

Behind the artwork
The same spiral of Vortex XII, re-cut so that black carries the rhythm and colour survives only where the stroke crested.
